A Little History About Us
Reynolds Iron Works, Inc. was founded by William Edgar Reynolds in 1921 and was known then as the Novelty Steel and Fire Escape Company and was located at 139 Susquehanna Street in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The company officially changed its name to Reynolds Iron Works Incorporated in 1949 and remained at 139 Susquehanna Street until 1971 when it built a new facility and moved to its current location in the west end of Williamsport. The manufacturing, fabrication and erection of fire escapes and their components such as treads, railings, columns, stringers, and various types of other railings was its primary operation. Many of the fire escape components listed above were shipped all over the country for use by other fabricators in fire escape construction. Reynolds Iron Works was forced to curtail its manufacturing of fire escapes and their components and venture into other areas of steel fabrication in the mid 1940's after the Department of Labor and Industry severely changed its regulations for fire escape construction after a major fire in Chicago.

With its vast knowledge of fire escape and rail construction, Reynolds Iron Works quickly and successfully transformed its fabrication efforts to the fabrication of steel stairs, railings and light structural steel.

By 1971, Reynolds Iron Works was fabricating more and heavier structural steel and has continued to grow as a leader in miscellaneous steel and structural steel fabrication. Reynolds Iron Works continues to update and upgrade its facility including two building additions and new office facilities to better house our ever growing structural steel fabrication needs.

Reynolds Iron Works takes pride in its role as a leader in providing such a diversity of services. We provide all types of structural steel fabrication such as beams, columns, trusses, plate fabrication, tanks and miscellaneous steel fabrication such as all types of stairs, railings, ladders and more, all available in steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

Today Reynolds Iron Works remains committed as ever to its position as an industry leader in the manufacturing and fabrication of all types of steel products for use in commercial, institutional and residential construction.
